Blue train (2014) 15 min - Work in progress
30-year-old Liam, pervaded by a feeling of childhood nostalgia takes a trip in time, in his phobias and memories, to find his true identity and his Utopian past. The final destination of his coach journey is an imaginary mountain. The passengers who visit him whilst in the train of memories are key characters from his life who have played a determining role in shaping his personality. The train is a non-place, where reality meets fiction. This is a trip towards Liam’s unreachable goal, ending in him embracing himself and his past.

Discovery - End of the world bumper
This bumper was used by Discovery Channel Uk as a humorous comment on the Mayan prediction that the world would end in 2012. My task was to create the video using existing 3d footage of the channel idents. All work, including the burning of the D and its motion afterwords was done on After Effects. The final sound was added on a later stage.

Discovery - Penguin Book Club
This TV ad was aired on the Discovery Uk channel to advertise Discovery's book Club in partnership with Penguin.
My task was to create all the book graphics appearing between the live shots. The book pile, as well as the pack shot was created on 3d studio max and the background image was added on after effects using max 2 ae. All book titles where added on after effects.

Google Art V2 - How to use the site
Explanatory video for the use of the new Google art website.
My task was mainly to recreate the user interface, menus, zoom ins etc Something particularly challenging as the actual website was constantly being changed or parts did not exist until a few days before it rolled out (in parallel to our production).
Also contributed to some of the animations (eg the curtain) and editing of the project.

Helmepa TVC 2012
Remake of a beloved 1980’s advert for the protection of the maritime environment. My involvement can be split into two parts; consulting a web design agency on the process of their first tvc spec (advice on scripts, creating style-frames, selecting main character 3d modeler).
The initial proposals were quite ambititious but as is often the case in Greece nowadays, budget restrictions dictated a far more pedestrian approach to the project.
I then undertook the compositing, making several changes on the color correction of the 3d models, adding 2d background elements using max 2 ae and changing the appearance of the sea to give it a more Greek feeling.

Aiming at a younger audience, hellenic recycling company created a series of interactive microsites using a mixture of animation and games. This is the introduction for the second one, focusing on the importance of recycling CFL lamps.

Handel's "Theodora" Visuals / Painting 1
In 2010, nomint undertook the creation of visuals for the Handel's opera "Theodora", which essentially formed part of the set at the stage of the Athens Concert Hall.
My task was to create abstract forms that would follow the lead actress movements and musical score.
The decision was to use footage, so after quite a few experiments with different types of paper, ink, angles etc for the filming of each separate form, the final composition was made in after effects and this is the result!

YPEKA - Forest Charts
This ad was used by the ministry of the environment referring to the benefits of forest charting.
An otherwise simple spot with just a little trap; no video footage would be available due to budget restrictions so everything had to be made out of still photos. My task was to create the 3d parallax effect for each scene, add effects and do the final compositing.

TV ad for the Greek daily "To podiki" (the mouse).
My task was to animate 2d elements, camera and complete the final compositing. It is an important project for me as is was one of my first "hands on" assignments while I was an intern at nomint motion design.

Introductory video for the Mercedes trekking club microsite.
My task was to complete the video after the storyboard stage.

This TVC was aired by OPAP lotteries during the world cup in South Africa.
My tasks included the 3d design and animation of pencils/ paper as well as the 2d element animation and final compositing of the ad.

It's not a fairytale 1
Aiming at a younger audience, Hellenic recycling company created a series of interactive microsites using a mixture of animation and games.
In this case I was handed layered Photoshop files for each page set, that were already approved by the client. My task was to convert them into 3d models and do the animation. This meant I had change each separate layer into a flat perspective before mapping it onto the 3d planes. Using max and vray I rendered each flip separately and did the compositing in after effects. Final delivery was in flash video with embedded cue points to provide for user interaction.

Packaging - Kalamata Balsamic Vinegar
Parallel to my studies, I undertook the overhaul of the corporate identity and packaging design of the family owned company CC Papadimitriou Sa.
For the two labels I decided to team up with my fellow student Eftixia Liapi. Working as a team was a pleasure, as we experimented with different approaches on the design and food styling before ending up on this one.
The photo part was particularly challenging as we both liked the natural look of the photos Eftixia took for the initial drafts so we set up a DIY studio with... desk lamps, drawing cartons as reflectors and of cource quite a lot photoshop to finally reach the result we wanted.
Following is the company logo I designed earlier in 2005.
Today Kalamata Balsamic vinegar is the leading brand in Greece and is exported under the same design on many countries worldwide.

Packaging - Balsamon Mustards
Balsamon is a gourmet mustard sauce containing balsamic vinegar, honey and Mediterranean herbs.
It was the time of the Olympic games in Athens then (2004) and my brief was to design "a niche packaging on an ancient Greek theme".... quite shivering news at first. Eventually I tried to escape the cliche using details of nature depicting Minoan inspired frescos. Typography was prominent using the Garamond typeface designed by Takis Katsoulides, in both Greek and Latin versions.
Second is the print advert we run on food press at the time. The text on the advert reads "one jar encloses all the Mediterranean aroma" so my intention was to highlight the Balsamon logo making the typography by hand, using the herbs contained in the product and then framing the composition using the shape of the glass containers by repeating it on the background.
The third photo is from the company's pavilion at the SIAL Paris 2006 food expo. The product was well received and it won three distinctions at the following international food fairs;
SIAL Paris 2004 – Mustards Balsamon: Trends & Innovations;
The SIAL Committee selected the Balsamon mustards along with 50 innovative products that created new trends in the food industry as a completely new addition to the mustard category.
IFE London 2005 – Mustards Balsamon: Discover IFE;
The IFE team selected 5 products – including the Balsamon Mustards – as the “Discoveries” for the year 2004-5.
SIAL PARIS 2006 – Mustards Balsamon: SIAL d’Or;
The Balsamon mustards were selected as the nominees from Greece for the SIAL d’Or, presenting innovation and sales success for the year 2005-6.
